Chef Steven Morlino is the executive chef of Encore Boston Harbor’s Garden Café and in-room dining. His unique cooking background has allowed him to create exceptional menus with creative takes on items ranging from classic brunch fare to sandwiches, pizzas, burgers and more.
Chef Steven’s love for cooking grew from watching his grandmother and great aunts preparing food around the holidays. His curiosity about everything they did in the kitchen sparked questions around the ingredients they chose, how they learned to cook each dish, and everything in between. As soon as he was old enough, he started his professional culinary journey as a dishwasher and then a prep cook while he was still in high school. These experiences fueled his love for the restaurant industry and ultimately inspired him to attend the Culinary institute of America in New York. While in school, he completed an internship in Santa Margherita, Italy, during which he developed a deep understanding for authentic Italian and Mediterranean cuisine and an overall passion for fresh ingredients and great dining experiences.
Prior to coming to Encore Boston Harbor, Chef Steven worked with prestigious chefs such as Larry Forgione and Terrance Brennan, and held positions at the Columbus Hospitality Group, Aquitaine Group and Alpine Group. He grew up in New Jersey and currently lives in Revere, Massachusetts with his wife, their two sons and their golden retriever. Aside from cooking, his biggest passion is creating special memories with his family.
